UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced that the government has ordered an additional 40 million doses from a new Scotland-based manufacturer, Valneva, in its continuing effort to maintain vaccine supplies, the BBC reports.
“As we have all along, we’ve invested early, and at risk, before we know for sure if it’ll come good,” Hancock stated, “because from the start, we’ve taken a ‘no regrets’ attitude to backing vaccines. We tried to leave nothing on the table.”
