With all GOP eyes toward appearances, Republicans have chosen the only Black member of their entire Senate caucus to deliver the response to President Joe Biden’s address to the joint session of Congress April 28th, CNN reports.
Tim Scott, one of three Black Republicans in all of Congress, was hand picked to deliver the national rebuttal, which given that Scott is one of the few Black Republicans in Congress, will likely greatly stress how the GOP thinks Black people should not like Joe Biden.
“Senator Tim Scott is not just one of the strongest leaders in our Senate Republican Conference. He is one of the most inspiring and unifying leaders in our nation,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said in a statement.
