The 10-ton piece of a Chinese rocket finally crashed to Earth Saturday night around 10:30 p.m. ET in the Indian Ocean near the Maldives, the Washington Post reports.
The rocket had been in what was politely called a uncontrolled low orbit, with scientists uncertain when or where it would crash. There was no reported damage.
#USSPACECOM can confirm Chinese #LongMarch5B re-entered over the Arabian Peninsula at approximately 10:15 pm EDT on May 8. It is unknown if the debris impacted land or water. https://t.co/4Ol9Sa2iJo
