The New York Attorney General informed the Trump Organization that their state investigation is no longer a purely civil matter, but includes criminal allegations.
The Manhattan District Attorney is already undertaking a criminal investigation into the Trump Organization, and the statement reads the two law enforcement agencies are working together.
From Sonia Moghe of CNN: “‘We have informed the Trump Organization that our investigation into the Organization is no longer purely civil in nature. We are now actively investigating the Trump Organization in a criminal capacity, along with the Manhattan DA. We have no additional comment,’ spokesman Fabien Levy said.”
