The Democratic-led House Oversight Committee, chair by New York Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, has opened an investigation into the Arizona ballot “audit” and is requiring Cyber Ninjas to open up its records to its own audit.

According to a letter sent to Cyber Ninjas CEO Douglas Logan, the company must hand over records relating to how Republicans in the state settled on the company, which has no know previous election audit experience, to conduct the audit of Maricopa County ballots.

The committee also wants to see any communication the company had with the following persons:  Donald Trump; any Trump Administration official; any Trump campaign official; Rudy Giuliani (or any Giuliani representative); Sidney Powell, Lin Wood, Patrick Byrne (presumably the former Overstock.com CEO and not the Bigfoot hunter); Mike Flynn; and Mike Lindell. 

The committee cites not just the Cyber Ninjas lack of experience in conducting an election audit as a cause for the investigation; they also note that the process by which the audit is occurring is suspect.  The committee refers to statements made by the Cyber Ninjas team of, presumably, ninjas such as the theory that bamboo in the ballots means they came from China and that Democrats shipped in tens of thousands of fake ballots from China as two examples of conduct that leaves people questioning the company’s competence.

“We are concerned about your company’s role in this highly unusual effort, given Cyber Ninjas’ apparent lack of experience in conducting election-related audits; reports that the company engaged in sloppy and insecure audit practices that compromised the integrity of ballots and voting equipment and were questioned by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ); and evidence that you and other individuals funding the audit have sought to advance the ‘big lie’ of debunked voter fraud allegations in the November 2020 presidential election,” the letter states.
