Republican Alabama Congressman Mo Brooks’ campaign spent more than $25,000 for two events at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in April and June, accounting for all of the money spent on events by the campaign over that time period, Forbes reports.
Mar-a-Lago is not in Alabama.
According to Federal Election Commission filings, Brooks’ campaign spent $19,000 to Mar-a-Lago in April and another $6,500 in June for facility rentals and catering. His Republican primary opponent, former U.S. ambassador to Slovenia Lynda Blanchard, spent nearly $14,000 at the club in March.
Trump publicly endorsed Brooks in his reelection effort on April 7th. Brooks has been a vocal supporter of Trump’s Big Lie.
