A DC Metropolitan Police Officer who responded to the January 6th domestic terrorist attack at the Capitol died of suicide earlier this year, the police department reported Monday, accounting for the fourth officer from January 6th to end their lives, HuffPost reports.
Officer Kyle DeFreytag was found dead at his home last month, and the family recently told the police department that he died by suicide. The announcement of his death comes on the same day another officer’s suicide was made public.
DeFreytag was 27-years-old and had served on the DCMP since November 2016.
