Senator Joe Manchin clarified in an interview with The Hill’s Scott Wong that he was not planning to nuke the Dems’ tenuous Senate majority but simply become a nominal independent in the mold of Angus King and Bernie Sanders “if it is ‘embarrassing’ to [Biden and Schumer] to have a moderate, centrist Democrat in the mix and if it would help them publicly, I could become an Independent – like Bernie – and then they could explain some of this to the public saying it’s complicated to corral these two independents, Bernie and me” which would’ve been effectively meaningless…
If @Sen_JoeManchin changes parties, he will be a national hero for saving America.
