“White Supremacist youth and mass shooter Kyle Rittenhouse…[said MAGA lawyer Lin Wood] was ‘insane’ and had ‘taken advantage’ of him. That prompted right-wing Trump allies — including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, alt-right activist Jack Posobiec and former Trump White House aide Sebastian Gorka — to come out against Wood,” reports Rolling Stone. Wood has responded with a litany of wild and increasingly paranoid claims that make him sound like it’s time for him to be put in the special jacket with the sleeves that go all the way around the back and shipped off to the home. Following are some examples of the heaping helping of crazy that Wood dished out:
“After doing the research and connecting the dots, I have reached the conclusion that the Stop the Steal organization is a Deep State organization to raise money for purposes other than to FIX 2020… WATCH OUT for anyone affiliated with Stop the Steal. Every lie will be revealed,” Lin posted to his Telegram account.
“Wood then posted a recording of a phone call between himself and millionaire Trump supporter and former Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne. During the call, Wood questioned where the money raised to overturn the election is going and accused Powell of being a scammer. ‘I’m not sure where all this money is going, but I think somebody owes to the American public a full accounting,’ Wood told Byrne.”
Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne, another legendary wing-nut who used his platform as a GOP propagandist to promote false claims that his competitor Wayfair.com was using it’s business as a Trojan Horse operation to facilitate trafficking in child prostitutes claimed: “I have texts. Some of it has to do with Sidney wanting to bed me, and I said no. We have texts and witnesses to that, and that’s how she became a woman scorned, I haven’t spoken a word to to Sidney since April 6, and I never will again.”
During the phone call Wood claimed that Rittenhouse must have been “coached” to disparage him during his interview with Tucker Carlson, and Wood’s telegram contained the message: “I admit Mike and Sidney played me for a few months…I had no experience in military psychological operations.”
The one thing we can all be thankful for is that the people trying to destroy our Democracy are clearly a bunch of paranoid morons. If we were being targeted by people in our own country who had the hunger for power and the sophistication of people like Joseph Stalin or Benito Mussolini then we’d all be screwed.
