More than 40 camels competing in the beauty pageant portion of the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival were disqualified after event officials discovered their owners had sexed them up with botox injections and facelifts to make them appear more attractive, Sky News reports.
You may be thinking something along the lines of “Why the fuck is there a beauty pageant for camels?”, and reasonably so, but it’s actually something much closer to the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, with a $66 million dollar prize awarded to the winning camel breeder rather than the $1 million or whatever the WKC Best in Show wins. Why they would still call it a “beauty” competition, we don’t know, but at least the money explains the cheating. Otherwise we’d have some concerns about why people would put in effort to make livestock look more attractive.
