Nineteen year old Texas man Jackson Reffitt tells Teen Vogue his story about finding out his father Guy, a member of the 3%ers militia, was at the Capitol riot and the subsequent decision to turn him into the FBI after Guy threatened Jackson and his sister Sarah with “traitors get shot” if they spoke of his involvement last January. “He used to be one of the best dads ever,” Jackson told Teen Vogue. “He made me the man I am today. He taught me to be honest, not to steal, all that cliché stuff. I believe he brought me up to do what I did.” Now Jackson’s mom calls him “the Gestapo” and even his sister thinks he went too far. “It’s hard not to condemn Jackson in defending my father,” says Sarah, who remains angrier with her brother for turning Guy in than she is at Guy for storming the Capitol. Guy Reffitt remains in the DC lockup awaiting trial for various felonies.
