Former Washington State trooper Robert Lamay, who quit the force in October over a COVID-19 vaccine requirement and telling Governor Jay Inslee “kiss my ass” in a video during his final patrol was hailed on Fox News as a hero in multiple segments and was interviewed on the propaganda network at least twice following his totally badass, lib-owning departure.
Now that he’s dead of the virus, however, Media Matters have been unable to find a single mention of his passing in the network’s coverage since Friday. Which is totally understandable, since it doesn’t really fit in with Fox News version of the truth of what sometimes happens to anti-vaxxers, even the most invincible-feeling ones. They should by all means avoid reporting something tragic and stupid that they certainly helped cause with all their oppositional-defiant anti-vax bullshit.
However, in the slightest shred of fairness to Fox, they did publish a story about Lamay’s death on their website Saturday, and it does not appear to have been buried if we judge by the number of comments – over 15,000 as of Monday. Media Matters mentions this in their write-up.
