The Republican majority in the Kansas state Senate failed on Monday to reach the required two-thirds majority required to override Dem Governor Laura Kelly’s veto of their batshit gerrymandered Congressional map, the Topeka Capital-Journal reports. Four Republicans have changed their vote since the map initially passed for different reasons, another one was missing Monday with his staff unable to locate him. The Senate majority leader changed his vote to a “no” to allow a second attempt at the override on Tuesday, though his ability to make it happen remains in doubt. The new map puts the liberal town of Lawrence, Kansas – 40 miles from Kansas City, Missouri, in a vast rural district that stretches all the way to the Colorado border.
