The New York Times reports that the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th domestic terrorist attack on Congress has discovered significant gaps in the official White House phone records kept by the Trump administration during the attack.
There is no indication if the logs were altered or incomplete. The logs also don’t register calls made directly to Donald Trump’s cell phone, a mode of communications he was known to rely on during his term to call friends and supporters like Trump advisor Sean Hannity.
The call logs do not match records from other witnesses who testified before the January 6th committee that they reached out to the White House during the attack on the Capitol. The logs are supposed to reflect the calls made through the White House switchboard as well as those outbound calls made by staff.
