Twenty-five term Republican Alaska Congressman Don Young has died at the age of 88, the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports. He was the oldest serving member in the House and Senate, having been Alaska’s sole House representative for 50 years.
Young’s office said that he died while traveling back to Alaska with his wife. No specifics were released on how the Youngs were traveling at the time of his death.
