Republican State Sen. John Bizon was sentenced Wednesday to a year of probation, a mental health evaluation, and to pay $1,130 in court costs for grabbing a nurse by the waist when she refused to prescribe him (probably) ivermectin for his COVID infection last August, MLive reports.

The 70 year old nurse did not specify exactly what right wing bullshit miracle cure it was, but told the court on Wednesday that Bizon had “tried to bully, coerce and intimidate me to practice quack medicine because he believed in conspiracy theories… Mr. Bizon, I forgive you, but I hope we both never forget.” Bizon, a first-term state Senator, will not face any discipline in the chamber because he’s taken responsibility for his actions, says Republican Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey.
