Jacob “QAnon Shaman” Chansley, a total fucking weirdo who became the international face of the Capitol riot, is seeking to have his September 2021 guilty plea tossed on the grounds that his original lawyer Albert Watkins, the guy who called his client and fellow MAGA marauders “fucking retarded“, “short-bus people”, and “on the spectrum” in an interview with Talking Points Memo a few months prior to Chansley’s plea, was ineffective counsel, WUSA 9 reports.
New Shaman attorneys William Shipley and John Pierce, the latter of which is also handling racist MAGA asshole Congressional candidate Laura Loomer’s $10 billion RICO lawsuit against Facebook and Twitter, are looking to get a new deal for their alien-brained client, arguing that Chansley got screwed relative to other non-violent Capitol rioters, many of whom were allowed to plead their federal felony charges down to local DC misdemeanors, often receiving little or no jail time.
Chansley’s case is complicated by the fact that the American flag spear he carried qualifies as a deadly weapon, which was the aggravating factor in his prosecution, however he pleaded guilty to only one felony count of obstruction of an official proceeding. He also affirmed to the court that Watkins had provided him with effective counsel when asked directly by the judge.
