Republican Texas Senator John Cornyn claims in a tweet that he will fight any proposal to expand mandatory background checks for gun sales or transfers regardless of where they are, but he also claims he’s for keeping guns away from criminals.
How are you going to stop the guns from being sold to criminals if you don’t make background checks mandatory? And how will you punish people for selling a gun to a criminal if you don’t mandate running the background check no matter who the seller is?
