Former Parkersburg, West Virginia town Councilman Eric Barber was sentenced to 45 days in jail Tuesday for two misdemeanors he pleaded guilty to for entering the Capitol and stealing a phone charging station belonging to CSPAN, WV MetroNews reports. Barber, who like his favorite president lost reelection on November 3rd, 2020, and was so angry he wanted to go “punch a Antifa terrorist in the face” at the Capitol on January 6th. There were none there. “You’re too old and you’re too accomplished and you’re too smart to get involved in nonsense like this,” DC Circuit Court Judge Christopher Cooper told Barber, who tried to sound remorseful.
“The impact that the crimes I committed on January 6 has had on me has been significant. I’ve lost significant standing in my community, standing that I worked really hard to earn. But all of that’s thrown away,” said Barber, who was probably full of shit about that “losing standing” part and will run for office again having earned some serious MAGA street cred for being “persecuted”.
