Sequoia Rhodes Adams, the estranged 19 year-old daughter of seditionist Oath Keepers leader Stewie Rhodes is organizing a pro-choice rally this weekend in a town in Montana’s remote northwest, per a profile published Saturday in the Daily Beast. Sequoia describes her father as – shocker – an abusive “pro-life” asshole who loaded his ex-wife and kids down with farm responsibilities in order to make it difficult for them to leave. Per Sequoia, Stewie Rhodes kept his ex-wife Tasha essentially continually pregnant – six kids and three miscarriages – the whole time she lived with him until she and her Sequoia’s siblings fled in 2018. Sequoia can’t remember a time growing up when her mom wasn’t breastfeeding a baby.

Obviously it’s no surprise that Rhodes turns out to be a fucking asshole and terrible father separate and apart from his attempted overthrow of the US government, knowing what’s been reported elsewhere about the personal/family lives of the people who threw themselves into the insurrection. Take, for example, 3%er Guy Reffitt who threatened his kids if they informed on him, Matt Gaetz’s ongoing federal sex trafficking investigation, QAdulteress Marjorie Taylor Greene’s adultery, MAGA Joan of Arc Ashli Babbitt’s deeply checkered past, Michigan booze lady Mellissa Carone’s ugly stalking episodes against her boyfriend’s ex-wife, Matthew Beddingfield who violated his attempted murder bond to go attack the Capitol on the 6th, the MAGA rioter arrested for assaulting a woman in a pool hall a few months ago, former Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne banging “MAGA Hari” Russian spy Maria Butina, and so on and so forth.

These are just a few of the examples of apolitical scumbaggery of those who tried to overturn the 2020 election, forget about shit like Pelosi’s laptop thief Riley Williams being a hardcore Neo-Nazi (and the daughter of a pedophile) and Marine reservist rioter Jia Liu selling fake COVID vax cards.

Now maybe this is confirmation bias. Maybe we’re overlooking the people who were/are actually in fact pillars of their community, paragons of personal integrity, exemplary parents, etc and that their character is real rather than something polished and embellished by a defense lawyer at sentencing. Maybe there are plenty of these people for whom the good really does outweigh the bad. But it’s hard to escape the feeling that most if not all of the hardcore MAGA insurrectionists, whether they violently invaded the Capitol on the 6th or not, are just complete pieces of shit aside from their contempt for democracy and worship of an amoral orange degenerate.
