The Republican former governor of Puerto Rico Wanda Vázquez Garced was arrested along with at least two others Thursday by the FBI on charges related to a corruption probe, CBS News’s David Begnaud reports. While Vázquez Garced officially ran and served as governor from the local “New Progressive Party,” for national fundraising purposes she is a member of the Republican Party and officially endorsed Trump for reelection in 2020, despite his horrific intentional neglect of the island and protracted public doubt over the death toll in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in 2017.
