Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s anti-vaccination group, the nonprofit Children’s Health Defense, had its Facebook and Instagram accounts suspended for continuing to promote false statements about vaccine, the Associated Press reports.
One of the most popular proponents of anti-vaccination conspiracy theories and alternative medical theories, Kennedy has drawn criticism for decades for his unfounded claims that vaccines of all types harm children. While he presents a number of statements to support his claim, his theories are roundly rejected by people with experience in medicine and science. Kennedy is a trained lawyer, not a doctor or medical researcher.
“Facebook is acting here as a surrogate for the federal government’s crusade to silence all criticism of draconian government policies,” Kennedy said.
