With the value of Truth Social bolstering his position, Donald Trump has returned to the Forbes 400 list of the richest people in the United States, coming in at #343 thanks to an estimated net worth of $3.4 billion, CBS News reports.
Last year was the first edition of the list that hadn’t included Trump since 1996. The valuation was based largely on an estimation of the value of Trump Media and Technology Group, which Forbes calls his “single biggest asset.” The major component of that company is a potential merger with Digital World Acquisition Corporation, a special corporation created to inject funds into TMTG to bolster Truth Social, Trump’s failing social media platform.
Unfortunately for Trump, the shareholders of DWAC have not endorsed the merger; the last shareholder vote came up far short of the needed percentage to continue with the merger deal. The corporation set another meeting to decide its fate for early October. If the DWAC shareholders do not vote for the merger, TMTG’s value will plummet.
