Manhattan independent congressional candidate and Army reservist Major Mike Itkis, 53, whose campaign website pushes a “Sex Positive Approach” to public policy and his opposition to “the conservative idea that sex should only happen between a man and a woman who are married to each other”, this week decided to shake up his campaign and upload a 13-minute video of himself having sex with a porn actress named Nicole Sage, City and State New York reports.
“If I would just talk about it, it wouldn’t demonstrate my commitment to the issue [of legalizing sex work, making sexual rights explicit, etc]. And the fact I actually did it was a huge learning experience, and it actually influenced items on my platform,” Itkis told City and State of the video he filmed last year. The Nadler campaign did not comment. The Republican running for NY-12 was supportive however. “You gotta do what you gotta do,” said GOP candidate Mike Zumbluskas “The media ignores everybody that’s not a Democrat in the city.” City and State New York’s report notes Itkis is a registered Democrat and describes himself as “very liberal.”
