Feeling the heat from both state and federal prosecutors, the slate of fake Trump 2020 electors in Georgia now say in a court filing they were just “contingent” and that any plans by Rudy Giuliani or John Eastman to try to take it further were done without their knowledge, Politico reports.
The electors were informed earlier this year they’re the targets of a criminal investigation by the Fulton County District Attorney’s office and are trying to figure out a way out the jam. “To the extent these reports are accurate (which the nominee electors have no way of knowing), the nominee electors did not and could not have had any involvement in or knowledge of any such plan,” lawyers for 11 of the 16 scam electors say in the filing, as if they still didn’t knowingly sign a false statement and were playing pretend electoral college and trying to overturn a free and fair election.
It’s obvious they saw that the fake Trump electors in Pennsylvania and New Mexico, who were smart enough to at least explicitly stated that they were strictly a contingency, rather than presenting themselves as the real deal. Those two slates, as far as we know, are not actually in any trouble.
