Republican Montana state lawmakers on Wednesday shelved a proposed bill to turn the state’s 2024 Senate election – and only that election – into a top-two jungle primary that would have blocked any Libertarian from splitting votes off the from the Republican challenger to vulnerable incumbent Democrat Senator Jon Tester in the November election, the Associated Press reports.
