Buddy Holly, a Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen from California, won Best in Show at the 147th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, becoming the first in the breed to take the top prize. The winner of the Hound group, Buddy beat out Rummie, a Pekingese, a breed which one commenter noted, “It’s hard, with a Pekingese, to see that it is an actual dog. It looks like an animate toupee being propelled across the ground,” according to the New York Times.
