Donning a t-shirt emblazoned with “Compromise is just another word for surrender,” a Florida Man was arrested after pointing a loaded handgun at a neighbor’s head after a friend momentarily drove her car onto his driveway while backing out of her driveway across the street, WJXT in Jacksonville reports. Welcome to Florida, where anyone can carry a gun at anytime with no license, training or cause.
Video of the incident shows a car preparing to back out o the neighbor’s driveway when 60-year-old Palm Coast resident Terry Vetsch approaches the car from the house immediately across the street before turning and driving down the street after Vetsch banged on the car. Walking onto the neighbor’s property, Vetsch bangs the back of the SUV, apparently with the gun in his hand, and appears to yell at the driver. After he retreats to his driveway, the neighbor approaches Vetsch to ask him what the fuck his problem is, and he pulls a gun from the pocket of his shorts while she is still in the street and points it at her head.
Vetsch said he was working in his home office when he saw the SUV back out of the neighbor’s driveway and stay on his driveway for what Vetsch apparently believed was an unreasonable amount of time. As any aggrieved white Floridian male who doubts his masculinity, Vetsch grabbed a handgun, went out front and banged on the back of the vehicle yelling, “Keep your piece of s*** out of my f****ing driveway!” Vetsch did not claim the neighbor or the vehicle driver threatened him in any way.
Vetsch called 9-1-1 claiming, “This woman came at me in my f*****g driveway threatening me” without mentioning he trespassed on her property first. Bodycam footage of police responding to the call and interviewing Vetsch the call shows Vetsch claiming the woman threatened him when she was on his property, but video doorbell footage from his own house shows Vetsch pulled the gun while the woman was still walking in the street and captured footage showing Vetsch being the aggressor and pulling a gun although there was no threat. Vetsch has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
