DC Circuit Judge Beryl Howell’s just about had it with drunken shitbrain Rudy Giuliani games in the defamation suit brought by Georgia 2020 election worker duo Ruby Freeman and her daughter Shae Moss over his false accusations the two were foot soldiers vast plot to rig the election against disgraced now-former President Trump, hitting Captain 9/11 with $89,172 in lawyers’ fees on Thursday while warning she’s this fucking close to slapping him with contempt or even summarily finding for the plaintiffs after months of Rudy jerking the court around on discovery evidence.
“Defendant Giuliani is CAUTIONED that failure to comply with the May Order, directing him to ‘search and produce all materials responsive to plaintiffs’ RFPs… within the date ranges agreed to by the parties, with the assistance of a professional vendor,’ including from his two eponymous businesses, for which he declared, subject to penalty of perjury, that he was ‘collecting, searching, and producing responsive materials… that are in [his] possession, custody, or control,’ see [73] Giuliani Decl. 12, may result in severe discovery sanctions, see Fed. R. Civ. P. 37(b)(2)(A) (outlining potential sanctions for a party ‘fail[ing] to obey an order to provide or permit discovery,’ including ‘(i) directing that the matters embraced in the order or other designated facts be taken as established for purposes of the action, as the prevailing party claims[:]… (vi) rendering a default judgment against the disobedient party; or (vii) treating as contempt of court the failure to obey’),” Howell wrote.
Less than a week ago we reported that Rudy was waving the white flag and wanted to settle, based on a joint filing. While it’s probably a safe bet those talks fell through, but that doesn’t mean the case isn’t coming to an abrupt and not at all good conclusion for Mayor Wetbrain and soon.
