MAGA Land goes to bed angry, wakes up angrier

As you might have read, Tuesday was not a great day on the MAGA internet and their collective mood did not at all improve after Wednesday dawned, seeing them grow only more negative:

“Imagine the ice that must run through so many people’s veins” – Top comment on the Gateway Pundit article “Ohio Legalizes Killing Babies Until the Moment of Birth and Overwhelmingly Votes to Legalize Marijuana.” Thanks for getting a not that great Foreigner song in our heads.

“Republicans need to realize Democrats are single issue voters. They don’t care about the economy, inflation, wars, energy costs. They care about abortion and nothing else” – Top comment on TownHall’s article “Republicans Lose Both Chambers in Virginia State Legislature.”

“You can grouse about cheating all you want, but the Democrats are better organized and have a better ground game, better fundraising operation, and a better ballot harvesting operation. What have Republicans done since 2020 to counter that? Under Ronna McDaniel, nothing. She has been a complete failure at her job. After overseeing three dismal election cycles, the Republicans rewarded her with an unprecedented fourth term. If the GOP gets wiped out in 2024, they’ll probably appoint her for life” – Top comment on the Instapundit post “YEAH. ESTABLISHMENT AGAINST DEMOCRATS? THE DEMOCRATS WIN. THEY’RE MORE AUTHENTIC, AFTER ALL: Mitch

“Good thing all those ballot irregularities in Bridgeport, Connecticut only occurred in Bridgeport, Connecticut! Whew!” – The current top comment on PowerLine Blog’s “After last night.” Lucky for him the other readers deemed this inside of Poe’s law, because it was true in the real world.

“How can anyone, any sane person vote Democrat after everything the Dems are doing to our country? This is insanity. Our country is doomed. After ’24, our country will be on borrowed time. I thought we had a chance to save it, but it looks like that will not be the case” – Top comment on the Fox News article “Youngkin falls short in his mission to win total GOP control of Virginia state legislature.” Lots of different stages of grief in that one, “acceptance” being a notable exception.

“The biggest problem is that a large portion of voters can’t even understand the ballot and shouldn’t be voting in the first place. Matt Walsh is 100% correct when he talks about needing some sort of knowledge to be eligible to vote. We have tens of millions of Americans who voted on things, TODAY, that don’t know why they voted the way they did… tens of millions of Americans don’t have a coherent response to defend the way they voted” – Top comment on the Daily Wire story “‘Big Abortion Won’: Ohio Voters Add Abortion To State Constitution.” Blaming the voters is a move often associated with confidence in messaging for one’s political party and it’s important to stick to it.

“Until elections are all paper ballots, with picture voter id required, and no tabulating machines: We must do every rotten thing Leftists do at election cheating, but better” – Top comment on Breitbart’s story “Virginia Democrats Keep Senate, Projected to Win House of Delegates in Blow to Youngkin.”

“The truth about yesterday’s off year election. Once dark red Virginia has moved blue because immigrants and federal bureaucrats have flooded into Northern Virginia, which has changed the state politically. In Kentucky, Cameron lost not because Trump endorsed him, as obsessively stupid Trump-hater Chris Christie claims, but because he is a Mitch McConnell protege (McConnell is a Gerald Ford protege) who was not a forceful advocate of conservative principles and Biden’s failures. This should be a lesson for Republicans, ie, RINOs have no winnable message. Republicans will continue to lose on the abortion issue because the Democrat Party and their surrogates spend for more on TV ads than the GOP spends on this issue, and the Democrats use those funds to lie about their true policy, which is abortion until birth, no parental notification, and virtually no regulation at all, and lie about their opponents hating women. The point is people are voting on the propaganda they are being fed not the actual issue” – Angry little bastard Fox News host Mark Levin via Twitter. Would’ve embedded it like the others but his jeremiad was too long.

“Dems/Lefty issues win in KY, OH and VA tonight. And it wasn’t even close. This is a very very bad sign for 2024. As things go down the tubes in the USA, the electorate is turning even more to the left for governance. This is terrible” – Top comment on PJ Media’s “What the Heck Happened in Kentucky?” Change a few nouns and you would think some of these guys were neurotic liberals.

“We can Make America Great Again without Trump. Ron DeSantis has the policies and the will to do it. He flipped Florida, and he can flip the USA as well. Sure, he has failed to ‘ignite the voters,’ but aside from a few political geeks like ourselves nobody pays attention to a presidential race this far in advance. Most people won’t” – Top comment on “Trump Isn’t The Easy Button” at RedState. The DeSantis fanboy actually went on quite a bit longer but who cares, you already got the picture.

“Not a good night for Republicans.. With the unpopular administration it should have reflected over into races that ended today and it is still stuck in the middle.. Democrats with their early voting, their control of teachers, college professors and the media have a more than equal chance of winning elections and Republicans seem to believe that right will always win over wrong… It doesn’t… There doesn’t seem to be a formula for Republicans to change the inevitable going into 2024… It seems that our children and grandchildren are going to live in the United Socialist States of American by their own choice” – Top comment on the Daily Caller article “Kentucky’s Democratic Gov Andy Beshear Secures Reelection.” Well that’s just downright positive and inspirational to the rest of us.

Dem Susanna Gibson actually did end up losing in a squeaker, but this was too funny to leave out and we highly doubt this “Lion Politics” asshole is happy about the overall picture.
