The Dutch Freedom Party, run by far-right extremist MP Geert Wilders, appears to be leading big the Netherlands’ Wednesday general election at a projected 35 seats to 26 captured by a left-wing coalition, putting Wilders within reach of the Prime Minister’s office, the BBC reports.
Wilders is a hardcore immigrant-hating asshole who wants Islam straight up banned in Tulipstan and naturally American right wingers like small-faced dipshit Charlie Kirk are absolutely ecstatic over his party’s gains. It’s unclear at this point what the appetite may be for other parties to form a coalition large enough to freeze Wilders out of the premiership. It might help if we knew jack shit about Dutch politics, all we have to go on right now is just a cursory understanding for how European parliaments typically operate. The BBC’s article does seem to imply that it is not a done deal yet as far as handing the keys to Wilders goes. Either way it’s still a dark turn for the Netherlands.
