In the traditional “Year-End Report on the Federal Judiciary,” Supreme Court Chief Justice John adroitly side-stepped the issue of ongoing ethics questions on the High Court and eroding public confidence in its rulings, opting instead to concentrate on technological advances the Court made in 2023, the Washington Post reports.
Besides not mentioning the enlarging Clarence Thomas “gifts-from-‘friends'” scandal that benefited the Justice and his insurrectionist wife to the tune of millions of dollars since he’s been on the bench, Roberts also opted to not mention Alito’s acceptance of travel from “friends.” He did, however, tout the potential for artificial intelligence, apparently because that’s more important than restoring public approval of the Court’s actions.
