The leader of the Democratic Party of South Korea was stabbed in the neck in an attack during a visit to the southern port city of Busan, CNN reports, with the event seen a live stream posted online. The 59-year-old Lee Jae-myung was seen greeting a press gaggle when a man wearing what appears to be a blue crown or mask lunges toward him and stabs him in the neck with some type of blade. Police say the attacker is detained, but they have provided no further information on his identity or motive. Lee’s condition is unknown, but he was transported to a hospital for treatment.
