The Alaska Airlines 737 Max 9 that lost an exit door plug section from its fuselage after taking off from Portland on Friday had at triggered a cabin depressurization warning in the cockpit on at least three previous flights, the BBC reports. The warnings were significantly concerning the airline ordered the plane to be scheduled off transoceanic flights.
The good news for Alaska Airlines: the door plug section was found in the backyard of a Portland teacher, and the airline can return at least one of the passenger’s cell phones after it was found by a pedestrian after it fell 16,000 feet from the plane.
