In this week’s episode of the drama surrounding former Harris County, Texas GOP Chairman and current state House primary candidate Jared Woodfill, a character so debased our readers would reject him as too over-the-top if we had made him up in some silly satire article, the Texas Tribune reports they dug up a 2017 email written by a college kid who was on Woodfill’s payroll but assigned to work out of the home Woodfill’s law partner, retired Judge Paul Pressler, as his aide. In it, the aide informed Pressler’s family that the judge had touched him and bragged about being naked around young boys. All of it shows Woodfill knowingly abetted his partner’s predation until at least 2017.
From the email:
This last Saturday night, Paul told me that he went skinny dipping in the hot tub with and his three young boys that are ten years old and younger. I do not find it reasonable at all for an 86-year-old man to be naked with three young boys, regardless if their father is present. After bragging about his hot tub experience Paul told me “you seriously need to get over your phobia of taking off your clothes with me.” This upset me greatly. Paul then went on to say that “if the young boys were okay with getting naked in the hot tub with me then so you should be okay with it also”.
It gets even worse than that, with the college kid writing Pressler was preying upon a homeless 20 year-old who had stolen money from the judge and was manipulated into massaging him while naked. Pressler’s wife Nancy was aware too and had told not to take the 20 year-old home, but the old man did it anyway. The email was attached to a resignation letter addressed to Pressler which read “My conscience dictates that I step away. Please take me off the payroll. If I am to continue receiving paychecks from Woodfill in the continuing weeks, I will send them back.”
The whole story’s a sprawling, almost Lovecraftian nightmare that we’ve gone on for quite some length previously, all thanks to the Texas Tribune’s Robert Downen’s excellent reporting, which has already shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that Woodfill – a hardcore MAGA anti-LGBT activist – was knowingly aiding and abetting a pederast for at least 13 years, probably more.
The context of it all however is just as outrageous – and maybe even more important:
