Researchers who’ve been conducting focus groups of Trump 2016-Biden 2020 voters tell Axios that participants are not buying the shit the orange slob has been saying about abortion policy – and that there’s serious opening for Biden to recoup whatever erosion he’s suffered from Robert Kennedy Jr.
“Among pro-choice swing voters who would vote for RFK Jr, some seemed to second-guess their support when confronted with the argument that a vote for Kennedy is effectively a vote for Trump and his abortion policies,” said Rich Thau, president of research group Engagious, who said six out of the 11 participants of a recent Pennsylvania panel were looking to support Crazy Bobby.
Kennedy himself has been very squirrelly on abortion. “If he doesn’t agree with what I agree with abortion, then I’m going to switch,” said one of the Keystone Staters, who probably doesn’t know that Kennedy favors a 15-week ban. Only one of the four Dems, for Republicans, and three independents agreed with Trump’s “leave it up to the states” line. The rest agreed it’s fucking stupid.
“You’re going to lose all doctors and they’re going to go where they could treat their patients, it doesn’t make sense to have it in every single state be different,” said one woman. “It’s going to cost us more money, cause us more stress. It’s just not convenient in the end,” said another.
