Republican voters suddenly have a change of heart about whether a convicted felon should be elected president: YouGov polls

Big name polling outfit YouGov on Friday began sampling for a repeat of their April survey which asked various questions pertinent to now-convicted felon former President Trump’s then-not yet started trial on 34 counts of falsification of business records and found some shall we say, “evolving” views on the matter among Republican respondents: In April 17 percent said yes on whether “someone who has been convicted of a felony should be allowed to become president,” which dramatically increased to 58 percent when YouGov asked again between Friday and Sunday.

It gets even better. Comparing their April 2023 and June 2023 findings, YouGov also saw a 9 percent decrease for “Cheating on your spouse,” a 12 percent decrease for “Having sex with a porn star,” a 14 percent decrease for “Paying someone to remain silent about an affair,” and a 14 percent decrease for “Paying someone to remain silent about an issue that may affect the outcome of an election” among Republican voters on whether such sins should be should be illegal (it should go without saying that only the last of those should be “illegal” but this is what they asked).

Ever better-er: Also between those two samples, they found a 5 percent decrease for “Had an affair with porn star Stormy Daniels in 2006,” an 11 percent decrease for “Directed money to be paid to Stormy Daniels to remain silent about their affair,” a 6 percent decrease for “Falsified business records to conceal money paid to Stormy Daniels to remain silent about their affair,” and an 11 percent decrease for “Attempted to conceal damaging information and unlawful activity during the 2016 election” on whether or not Republican respondents believed Trump had done those things.

How fucking twisted is that, that their belief in whether or not these things actually happened declined inverse to their being borne out be evidence and testimony in a court of law? Holy shit, lol.
