Having semi-officially secured the top of the ticket late Monday and raised a shit ton of money, there is no question at this point of whether Vice President Kamala Harris will be nominated in the virtual primary still slated for next week – and Politico Playbook notes that before then she’s going to need to make her pick for running mate. Already formal vetting questionnaires have been sent to Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, North Carolina Gov Roy Cooper, and Pennsylvania Gov Josh Shapiro.
“Others, including Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, are in the mix,” Playbook writes, without saying if they’re being vetted. “Some of this is chemistry. She knows, having been VP, what it feels like… Some will require more [vetting] than others,” a Harris ally said.
