Now, while we can’t say for certain whether Charlie Kirk acolyte Tyler Bowyer, the credibly suspected beneficiary of major graft from the coffers of the very slush fund-y MAGA “youth” activist organization Turning Point USA, does or does not know what he’s talking about here, specifically on the question of if Nebraska state Senator Mike McDonnell can be recalled from his seat for coming out against the plot to rig the electoral college for convicted felon former President Trump. We simply aren’t familiar enough with Nebraska election laws to make a call one way or another.

We can say however that since the whole point of taking the position was to avoid pissing off his constituents that a recall bid probably would not actually succeed. And it’s unlikely that one could be launched within the next 42 days even if it is possible. And that he’s leaving office on January 8th, 2025 due to term limits. And that he wants to run for Mayor of Omaha next year and as such should try to continue to stay in his constituents’ good graces ahead of that bid. And that, per the New York Times, McDonnell is not the only holdout, there are two other Republicans still opposed, putting Team MAGA three votes shy of the 33 needed to pass the bill Gov Jim Pillen calls a special session.

So yeah, Bowyer is just crying salty tears of butthurt rather than dealing in reality.

The rest of the “Nebraska Freedom Coalition” tweet is friggin hilarious too. “It’s unfortunate that the entire fate of the state, and possibly the country, can be held in the hands of one or two state legislators. At a time when courageous action and moral fortitude is needed, ‘Republicans’ in Nebraska would rather remain comfortable and complacent. The democrats wouldn’t hesitate for a second to legally implement a rule change that would reflect the will of the majority of the state.”

“Senator Mike McDonnell may have changed his political affiliation from Democrat to Republican, but it has become abundantly clear he is not interested in securing our elections nor protecting the integrity of our republic. We pray to God that we don’t look back on election night wishing there was something more that could have been done,” the far right Cornhusker State account moaned.

On that we’re in agreement. We hope that Kamala Harris wins significantly more Electoral College votes than the just the one in NE-2 while capturing a clear majority of the antiquated bullshit system, 300+ of them to make any attempts by corrupt MAGA judges to overturn it useless.

The Orange God Emperor himself bitched over McDonell’s “betrayal” on Monday, posting “I would like to thank Governor Jim Pillen of Nebraska for trying to help the Republican Party simplify the complexity of the State’s Electoral Map. It would have been better, and far less expensive, for everyone! Unfortunately, a Democrat turned Republican(?) State Senator named Mike McDonnell decided, for no reason whatsoever, to get in the way of a great Republican, common sense, victory.”
