This isn’t to say “who cares?” Everything in Liz Warren’s tweet is true enough, as it’s (probably) true that the IGs will make this a long and drawn-out fight in court given said violation of the law. It’s just who the hell does she think this appeals to? Is Joe Rogan going to invite her on his show on Monday to ask her about why this is so bad? Even if he did, how’s she going to answer when he asks about some blog post he read that said the Smithsonian IG was hiding evidence that a race of winged humans once thrived in Brazil until the 1500s when a Portuguese Catholic bishop ordered them exterminated for contradicting church dogma about angels? Would “Trump didn’t actually fire Smithsonian Inspector General Nicole Angarella,” work there or is Warren going to be stuck debating the merits of the “evidence” of pre-Columbian angels in Brazil until the clock runs out?
What was stopping her from writing “How does this lower gas prices?” or “Eggs are still $5 a dozen at Costco, so hopefully firing these inspectors general will knock them back down to $3” or “Wow, I just got my electricity bill and it’s 15 percent higher than it was last month. Meanwhile the president is firing people to reenact his lame ‘reality’ game show that got canceled in 2010”?

This was Trump making it easier for himself and his cronies to commit crimes without scrutiny, which the incels have been conned into thinking somehow benefits them beyond simply deriving entertainment by the reactions from Liz Warren and the like (worth noting here is that Michael Horowitz at the DOJ – an Obama appointee who is probably the first and only inspector general a Trump fan would name if they had to pick one – was somehow NOT among those fired).
MAGA winning, libs crying, that’s it. The rest is an abstraction to the egg price voters. They don’t give a shit and never will about the inspectors general or Pete Hegseth or pulling Dr Anthony Fauci’s security detail in and of themselves. BUT Dems can and absolutely freaking should channel their anger over said outrages by connecting them to Trump’s inevitable failure to make their lives more affordable like he constantly lied that he was going to do on the campaign trail.
Firing these people does jack shit to lower egg prices or credit card rates and it’s just Trump jerking himself off instead of serving the American people. It really does not need to be more complicated than that. This is not going to be a hard muscle memory to develop nor is it somehow incongruent with the usual base maintenance aimed at engaged Dem voters. Just freaking do it.
