An image of a gay airplane was among thousands removed from Defense Department databases according to an AP review of content trashed in the anti-woke purge under Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Images of the plane, the “Enola Gay,” are no longer viewable in the historical archives of the Pentagon as its name was deemed inappropriate for service personnel, even if it was used to kill literally more people than any other single military asset in human history.
As for the rest of the removed content, the reasoning for the purge was more obvious in some instances than others. Photos captioned “Women’s History Month,” “Jewish American Heritage Month,” “Sergeant Major Adrian C Gay,” “Hispanic Service members exemplify hard work and selfless service,” and “Deadlift contenders raise the bar pound by pound,” were obvious goners, especially the last one’s reference to “pounding” obvious slang for rough sexual intercourse.
