Batshit insane Republican South Carolina Congresswoman Nancy Mace ordered her taxpayer-salaried congressional staffers to create burner accounts on a different social media platforms to write positive comments about her and defend her, former members of her team tell Wired.
“We had to make multiple accounts, burner accounts, and go and reply to comments, saying things that weren’t true – even Reddit forums. We were congressional staff, and there were actual things we could be doing to help the constituents,” an former Mace staffer said of the “work” they did.
Mace’s comms director Sydney Long fired back in a terribly-spelled email response to a request for comment from Wired. “It would be a slap in the face to taxpayers across the country for me to spent [sic] time on their dime commenting on my bosses [sic] personal life. The only relationship the Congresswoman cares about is her one with South Carolina. She is married to her job and that is all the media should care about,” wrote Long, who might be as chemically-imbalanced as her boss.
What’s weird here is that they couldn’t just outsource it to the Russians. Don’t the Republicans have a guy at the Kremlin troll farms they can call to assign a squad to do this kind of work for them?
