Not ruling on the constitutionality of convicted felon President Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship, the US Supreme Court granted his regime’s applications to partially stay the nationwide injunctions in the case, finding that “Universal injunctions likely exceed the equitable authority that Congress has given to federal courts” and “The Government is likely to succeed on the merits of its claim that the District Courts lacked authority to issue universal injunctions.”
The TLDR is that for now, the executive order is enforceable in 28 states, with how it’s actually going to be enforced completely unaddressed in the 6-3 decision. Nationwide injunctions have been seriously limited, though the decision allows for nationwide relief in cases brought by states.
