“Thomas Pham LeGro, 48, made his first appearance today in US District Court for allegedly possessing child pornography. LeGro, a journalist at the Washington Post and resident of the District of Columbia, was arrested yesterday and taken into custody following a search of his home. The charges were announced by US Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro. Pirro thanks FBI Assistant Director in Charge Steven J Jensen and Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department for their ongoing efforts in this investigation,” said DC US Attorney Box-o-Wine’s office in a Friday statement

“On June 26, 2025, FBI agents executed a search warrant at LeGro’s residence and seized several electronic devices. A review of LeGro’s work laptop revealed a folder that contained 11 videos depicting child sexual abuse material. During the execution of the search warrant agents observed what appeared to be fractured pieces of a hard drive in the hallway outside the room where LeGro’s work laptop was found. This case is being investigated by the FBI Washington Field Office’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, which is composed of FBI agents, along with other federal agents and detectives from northern Virginia and the District of Columbia. The task force is charged with investigating and bringing federal charges against individuals engaged in the exploitation of children and those engaged in human trafficking,” the statement continued.

In their lede on the story, the Gateway Pundit points out that LeGro was on the team that won a Pulitzer for exposing Roy Moore’s predatory sickfuckery, the implication of hypocrisy obvious.

Funny side note: The Gateway Pundit’s sole mention of former Moms for Liberty ally South Carolina state House member RJ May – arrested earlier this month for the same crime – was in a 2022 article.

Regardless, if LeGro is indicted and convicted he should be imprisoned in a bad place for a long fucking time. Pedophiles deserve no mercy whatsoever, no matter what their resume says. Curiously LeGro’s is still up on his bio page at the Post, but his Twitter account has been wiped. Put together it might not mean anything at this point – like the Post could just not have gotten to it yet and most people not named RJ May delete their social media profiles when they’re credibly accused of possessing child pornography because they don’t want to be rightfully heckled and harassed.

Still… That possible sign of consciousness of guilt plus LeGro’s low profile as a video content editor aside, what crime is both extremely effective – ESPECIALLY in a politically-charged context – at annihilating a person’s character AND easy to frame them for with planted evidence?

Box-o-Wine’s previous stint leading a major prosecutor’s office got a 17 year-old kid locked up until he was 33 because the drunken idiot’s team mishandled DNA evidence in a murder investigation, failed to properly investigate the death of another 17 year-old who was fatally punched during a backyard party at a house owned by one of her campaign donors, among other notable fuckups.

Meaning it’s already a stretch to think that LeGro was somehow framed before you have to consider whether Pirro’s competent enough to mastermind and execute such a sinister plot. Of course she need not be actually involved or even aware that it is a plot by shadowy malefactors.

The press release does not link to a probable cause affidavit that might allow for a better read of the evidence against LeGro. There’s also nothing whatsoever in it on the scale of the digital paper trail RJ May left behind – like that sick piece of shit was literally flying to Colombia to rape little girls and filming himself doing it. With LeGro it’s just “11 videos depicting child sexual abuse material on his work laptop” which – of they weren’t somehow planted – for all we know could have been sent to him by a source unsolicited before he even knew what they were. He is a video editor. The part about “During the execution of the search warrant agents observed what appeared to be fractured pieces of a hard drive in the hallway” is meaningless and extraneous until a grand jury gets this case and they can somehow make it work for an obstruction count in the eventual indictment.

Again, if LeGro’s a pedophile then end of story. Lock him the fuck up. It’s just that, like with everything else in 2025 MAGAmerica you have to look a little more closely to see if there’s really a there there. Scrutiny of this press release about an arrest – not an indictment – listing very scant evidence with little detail, doesn’t exactly scream open-and-shut case.

*And yes I realize how MAGA it is to entertain some vast, dark conspiracy when damning evidence is found on someone not considered friendly to the Executive Branch. But they kind of had a tendency to “weaponize” state power against people after spending four years crying about it.
