“After a one‑day trial, a jury found Kyle Travis Colton, 37, of Citrus Heights, guilty Tuesday of one count of receiving child pornography, Acting US Attorney Kimberly A Sanchez announced. According to evidence presented at trial and in court documents, during a search of Colton’s home law enforcement recovered his laptop, which contained copious images and videos depicting the graphic sexual abuse of young children. The jury heard evidence that between July 2022 and December 2023, Colton downloaded these depictions of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The material was saved on Colton’s computer desktop and in his downloads folder, and he had user-created bookmarks linking to known child pornography websites.”
“This case is the product of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorneys Whitnee Goins and Shea J Kenny are prosecuting the case. Colton is scheduled to be sentenced by US District Judge Dale A Drozd on Oct 27, 2025. Colton faces a maximum statutory penalty of 20 years in prison and a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison, and a $250,000 fine. The actual sentence, however, will be determined at the discretion of the court after consideration of any applicable statutory factors and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, which take into account a number of variables,” says a DOJ/Northern District of California press release.
What it doesn’t say is that Colton is a Capitol rioter who was pardoned on January 20th with every other of the assholes who sacked the US Capitol in 2021, nor that Colton tried to argue to the court that the pardon also covered the child porn charge because the Justice Department argued the same for two similarly dispositioned insurrectionists, one of whom stole grenades and classified info from the government, the other having pleaded guilty to possession of firearms.
