Remember this when you go to the ballot box at the midterms, that these seven legitimate criminals and sex offenders who were here in the US illegally were the ones getting deported for their crimes while Democrats were protesting ICE detaining people like two wildland firefighters on the scene of major inferno in Washington state or 20 year-old Georgia nursing student Allison Bustillo Chinchilla who was held by ICE for 6 months until she begged them to simply deport her back to her native Honduras, from where her family fled violent extortionist gangbangers 12 years ago.
Yeah, that’s right. Keep this right at the forefront of you mind when you go to the ballot box and not the fact that Fox News wouldn’t even be airing this segment highlighting these scumbags at all if they were the only ones being arrested by ICE while a semi-pro soccer player from Angola whose wife is pregnant or a Pakistani-born US Army veteran and dad of two on his way were left alone.
That last guy was arrested in the middle of his citizenship interview, by the way.
So yeah, sarcastic rant over. There’s only so far it could go and the main rant – which is at all not limited to Stephen Miller’s endless record of cruelty – need be articulated clearly: This fucking “poison pill” mentality that seems to be the go-to for MAGA propaganda these days.
In its basest form it goes something like…
GOP: “Okay so this bill provides funding for community college online classes for blue collar workers in rural communities and also requires Jews to wear yellow armbands.”
Dems: “No way in hell are we voting for that”
GOP: “DEMOCRATS ARE AGAINST COMMUNITY COLLEGE CLASSES FOR RURAL BLUE COLLAR WORKERS! SEE?!? THEY’RE ON THE RECORD OPPOSING EDUCATING REAL AMERICANS!”
If Dem leaders have been arguing something like “Of fucking course we would have voted for a standalone no tax on tips bill separate from a giveaway to corporations and the wealthy/been completely fine ICE stormtroopers arresting sex offenders and MS-13 gangbangers/not ripping $2 billion away from DC instead of deploying troops to stand around and feed squirrels on the National Mall” then obviously they aren’t arguing loud enough to at least TRY to counter gutter propaganda.
Will it matter if they were making these pretty simple points louder? Who knows. Right now it seems more like they’re just counting on “pocketbook issues” to sap marginal MAGA turnout and they might not be wrong. Still, this “poison pill” shit is extremely central to the Republican Party line these days and just calling them out for it would be at the very least helpful for Dem base outrage maintenance.
