Kremlin officials on Friday said French President Emmanuel Macron “crossed a line of decency” by calling Russian dictator Vladimir Putin an “ogre at our gates” in earlier remarks, Reuters reports.
“When we say there’s an ogre at Europe’s gates, an expression used by many, I think it characterises what the Georgians, the Ukrainians and other nations feel very deeply,” Macron had told reporters during a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, to which Kremlin spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said was a “low-grade insult” and “unworthy of a head of state.”
Russian troops on Putin’s orders have killed tens of thousands of innocent Ukrainians, abducted God knows how many children, and bombed maternity wards, not to mention all the officials in his government mysteriously falling out of windows, LGBTQ Russians savagely beaten, false flag bombings of apartment towers, torturing Alexei Navalny to death, and this could go on for quite a while but you get the point about how “ogre” is what crosses the line for the dictator’s minions.
