A three-judge panel on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday found in favor of over 600,000 Venezuelan refugees on temporary protected status, finding that plaintiffs were likely to succeed on their claim that dog-murdering Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem’s department had no authority to vacate or set aside a prior TPS extension because the governing statute written by Congress does not permit for revocation, the AP reports on another L for Team Orange.
“In enacting the TPS statute, Congress designed a system of temporary status that was predictable, dependable, and insulated from electoral politics,” the court wrote in the ordered halting revocation.
