Multiple bomb threats have prompted the evacuations and closures of at least three polling sites in northern New Jersey on Tuesday morning, all of them in heavily Dem areas making it pretty fucking obvious which side is responsible for trying to dent the others’ turnout, News 12 reports.
Andre Sayegh, mayor of Paterson, the state’s third largest city, said polling sites at School 2 and School 10 were shut down as a precaution after the threats. Meanwhile Avanel Middle School in Middelsex County was shuttered due to “an active law enforcement investigation,” and voters were redirected to Woodbine Avenue Elementary School. Newark officials said they got both phishing emails and threats but the matter is still under investigation and no closures have been effected yet. Same story in Passaic where Mayor Hector Lora said the threats are still being evaluated.
Preeeeetty fucked up and probably going to be a fact of life going forward. One telling sentence in the News 12 article: “State and local law enforcement, as well as election boards in Newark, Hackensack, and Lodi have been contacted for comment.” Even this pretty lame news operation, founded by the widely disliked Dolan family of Cablevision fame, knows not to bother with calling the Trump Regime’s FBI and Department of Justice press offices for comment on the situation.
