McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski last week told investors that the Golden Arches has been seeing a double-digit drop in sales from lower-income households, the Los Angeles Times reports on a sign that what is still cheap, shitty processed food products becoming something of a luxury item. The CEO said as much, saying that sales from higher-income households swung the opposite direction.
And that’s the backdrop to convicted felon President Trump’s “Affordability Week” as the fat bastard hosts McDonald’s franchisees at an event in DC on Monday, per Axios. There is zero chance that pressuring them to find ways to lower prices takes up more time than him casting doubt on whether former Vice President Kamala Harris ever worked at a McD’s in the 1980s and then his stupid staged campaign stunt when he “worked” the drive-thru at a Pennsylvania location owned by a donor.
There’ll be a lot of that because it’s easier to for him to ramble about than the legendary $18 Big Mac meal at a rest stop on I-95 in Connecticut that MAGA incel podcaster Tim Pool in 2023 gleefully hailed as “the apocalypse for Joe Biden,” that is certainly still costs $18, if not more, now.
